Description
So I finally got this little bugger done. Lemme go over some specs on her first:
Time Total: Approx 40-50 hrs (not counting photos & mods)
weight: 10 - 12 Lbs (4.55 -5.5 kgs)
Width across front: 11" ( 28cm)
Length along side: 11" (28cm)
Height: 5" (12.5cm)
The main body (cephalothorax) is composed of automotive battery terminals, 10 of them. 8 of these are bolted in pairs next to one another to provide a base for the legs to connect. the last two are bolted through the wire conncetion clamp and act as a hinge, one half of that assembly is encased in the body, the other protrudes out and acts as a base for the abdomen. The abdomen is composed of an electric motor housing from a vaccum, with the internal components removed to be used at a later date, and replaced with a spring, nuts and various oddments for interest of view. The end closest to the head is capped off with an electric motor from ... I completely forget. the head is composed of a base made of a hard drive motor, 8 capacitors as a base for 8 black screw eyes, fabricated wire armature that holds the eyes to the base plate, and the spindle cap from the aforementioned hard drive. and the absolute genius piece of this all. Fish hook fangs. Yeah, genius. Ever have ten lbs of metal attached to your thumb with a fish hook? I don't reccomend it.

one other thing - I hav a great Idea for a more "artsy shot of this thing.don't know when it'll get doen, but it will be funny/scientific/trite. Here's a hint - think "nature magazine", lol.
